Getting started
Renter (non-owned) insurance
Why members carry renter insurance and how to buy a policy.
What it covers
Club policies cover the aircraft and the club, not your personal liability or the deductible you can be held to as the renting pilot. A non-owned (renter) policy covers that gap.
- Damage to the aircraft up to the club's deductible.
- Your liability to passengers and third parties.
- Legal defence costs following an incident.
Buying a policy
- 1Open Renter insurance from the site footer, or go to a4flight.com/insurance.
- 2Compare the coverage tiers shown and pick the limits that match how you fly.
- 3Buy directly from the insurer, then upload the certificate under Documents so dispatch sees you as current.
Dispatch checks insurance currency along with medical and flight review — an expired certificate blocks the flight.
