A4Flight Academy handbook

How the club, the aircraft, the training syllabus and the member portal work — written for members, students, instructors, mechanics and administrators.

Quick start by role

Quick start — mechanics

Work squawks, record maintenance, and keep aircraft airworthy.

Daily loop

  1. 1Open Maintenance. Open squawks are listed newest first with severity.
  2. 2Take a squawk, add findings as you work, and attach photos or invoices.
  3. 3Record the corrective action and close it — or ground the aircraft if it is not airworthy.
  4. 4Update inspection due times (annual, 100-hour, ELT, transponder) after each event.

What pilots see

  • Open squawks appear on the aircraft page and on every dispatch briefing card.
  • A grounded aircraft cannot be dispatched, so close or downgrade items promptly.
  • Hobbs from pilot check-ins drives inspection countdowns — no separate entry needed.
