Flight Academy syllabus

The Part 61 ground and flight syllabus, stages, and how progress is measured.

Structure

The Flight Academy is a digital workbook built from the A4 training manuals (A4-00 through A4-06, Rev 1.2). Each course is a sequence of ground and flight lessons grouped into stages, with a stage check before you advance.

  • Ground lessons (T-series) carry reading, discussion items and knowledge checks.
  • Flight lessons (F-series) carry preflight briefing, in-flight manoeuvre and postflight debrief checklists.
  • Progress is the share of lessons signed off by an instructor — not the share you have opened.

Working through a lesson

  1. 1Open the lesson from your course page before the flight.
  2. 2Read the objectives and safety callout, then write your preparation notes and tick the preflight items you have studied.
  3. 3Save your preparation — your instructor sees it before the brief.
  4. 4Fly the lesson; your CFI completes the in-flight and debrief sections, records flight data, assigns a grade and signs off.
