Flight Academy syllabus
The Part 61 ground and flight syllabus, stages, and how progress is measured.
Structure
The Flight Academy is a digital workbook built from the A4 training manuals (A4-00 through A4-06, Rev 1.2). Each course is a sequence of ground and flight lessons grouped into stages, with a stage check before you advance.
- Ground lessons (T-series) carry reading, discussion items and knowledge checks.
- Flight lessons (F-series) carry preflight briefing, in-flight manoeuvre and postflight debrief checklists.
- Progress is the share of lessons signed off by an instructor — not the share you have opened.
Working through a lesson
- 1Open the lesson from your course page before the flight.
- 2Read the objectives and safety callout, then write your preparation notes and tick the preflight items you have studied.
- 3Save your preparation — your instructor sees it before the brief.
- 4Fly the lesson; your CFI completes the in-flight and debrief sections, records flight data, assigns a grade and signs off.
