FAA experience audit

How the portal audits logged time against §61.109 and §61.65 requirements.

What is audited

The experience audit compares your logged time against the aeronautical experience requirements for the certificate or rating you are pursuing, line by line, and shows the remaining shortfall for each line.

  • §61.109 — private pilot: total, dual, solo, cross-country, night and test-preparation time.
  • §61.65 — instrument rating: instrument time, instrument cross-country and approaches.
  • Each line shows required, logged and remaining, so it is obvious what to schedule next.

The audit is a planning aid built from portal data. Your logbook and your instructor's endorsements remain the legal record for a practical test.
