Flight training · Part 61 · Denton (KDTO)
Learn to fly in modern aircraft, from a real FBO, with instructors we approve.
Private, instrument, commercial and transition training at Denton Enterprise Airport — flown in glass-panel aircraft at published wet rates, taught by A4-approved CFIs, and run end to end in our portal. Training is its own product: you pay per flight, with no club membership and no monthly dues.

Why train here
Three things decide how well training goes.
The aircraft you fly, the field you fly from, and the instructor in the right seat. We do not compromise on any of them.
Quality aircraft
Modern, IFR-capable, and honestly priced.
Train in a glass-panel Cirrus SR20-G2 with Avidyne Entegra and a DFC 100 autopilot, or build hours affordably in the Jabiru J170 light sport. Every rate is a wet rate published from the same record members book against — no fuel surcharges, no surprises on the invoice.
- Two IFR-equipped SR20-G2s plus a light sport trainer
- Managed maintenance with data-driven grounding decisions
- Published wet rates, 0.1-hour billing, one statement
Top-tier FBO
Sheltair at KDTO — the field's full-service FBO.
You brief in a real pilot lounge, not a folding table in a hangar corner. Crew cars, showers, catering, hangar space and a staffed ramp at Denton Enterprise Airport — a towered field with two runways, 30 minutes from most of the Metroplex.
- Staffed ramp, pilot lounge and briefing space
- Towered field, two runways, practice areas minutes away
- Fuel, hangar and after-hours support on site
Approved CFIs
A4-approved instructors, vetted and accountable.
Instruction is delivered under Part 61 by A4-approved independent contractor CFIs — credential-checked, insured, and current on our aircraft and procedures. The club invoices their time on your statement and pays them directly, so you never chase a second invoice.
- Credentials, currency and insurance verified before approval
- Aircraft-specific checkout before instructing in the type
- Instruction billed on your club invoice — never separately
Two ways to fly
Training and the Club are separate. Pick the one that fits.
Learning to fly does not require club membership, and club members are not enrolled in a course. Some pilots do both — most do one.

Certificated pilots who want to book and fly on their own.
Self-serve access to the fleet at published wet rates.

Curriculum
Every rating, lesson by lesson.
Our syllabi come from the A4-02 Training Course Outline. Open a rating to see the stages, the individual lessons and the regulation each course is built on.
Private Pilot Certificate (ASEL)
A structured Part 61 course taking a student from no experience to the Private Pilot practical test, organized in three stages — Pre-Solo, Cross-Country and Test Preparation — each ending in a stage check flown with a pilot other than your instructor.
3 stages · 28 lessons · Rev 1.2
Instrument Rating, Airplane
A Part 61 instrument rating course flown in the SR20, emphasizing single-pilot IFR discipline, avionics management and the judgment to decline or divert.
3 stages · 12 lessons · Rev 1.2
Commercial Pilot Certificate (ASEL)
A Part 61 commercial course for instrument-rated private pilots, built around the §61.129 aeronautical experience grid — including the required complex or technically advanced airplane time — and finished to Commercial ACS tolerance in the SR20.
3 stages · 18 lessons · Rev 1.0
Cirrus SR20 Transition and Rental Checkout
An eight-lesson transition for pilots new to the SR20, ending in a checkout evaluation that grants club rental privileges.
1 stage · 8 lessons · Rev 1.2
Discovery Flight
A single introductory lesson — $200, left seat, hands on the controls — designed to give an honest, structured experience of flight training and a clear decision about enrolling. It is a real lesson credited toward the Private Pilot course, not a sightseeing ride.
1 stage · 1 lesson · Rev 1.2
Instrument Proficiency Check
An instrument proficiency check conducted to the current Instrument ACS for pilots who have fallen outside recency, flown in the club's IFR fleet.
1 stage · 2 lessons · Rev 1.2
Flight Review
At least one hour of ground and one hour of flight training, tailored to the aircraft you fly and the flying you actually do.
1 stage · 2 lessons · Rev 1.2

The portal
Your training lives in a portal, not a paper folder.
Everything a student needs — scheduling, worksheets, dispatch, logbook and billing — runs on your phone at the aircraft.
Book aircraft and CFI together
One scheduling grid for aircraft and instructors, with a calendar feed that lands each reservation — tail number, CFI, location — in Google, Apple or Outlook.
Digital worksheets, graded
Each lesson has an interactive worksheet your CFI grades in the portal, with stage checks and instructor notes attached to the record.
Live FAA experience audit
Your hours are audited continuously against the Part 61 requirements for the rating you are working toward, so nothing is discovered the week of the checkride.

Aircraft time and instruction on a single statement. Pay by card or authorize autopay with your own per-invoice limit.
The aircraft you'll train in
A small fleet, maintained properly, priced wet.
